Hello Rosalyn, my great grandmother would be the person you may have known as my grandmother moved when she was quite young. My great grandmother lived in graig rd until the 60s I think. Her name was mary jones nee davies, she had 2 sons, brian and alfred and 2 more daughters who both died in the late forties. One of the daughters had a son called billy who lives in a nearby village still. He would be quite elderly now I think. My great grandmother also had a sister living in severn sisters.....mary st I think. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Helo Sian. What was your grandmother's name? I was brought up in Graig Rd and I still live in the area.We had to move as family in the early sixties to Cilmaengwyn because of the landslide.61 Graig Rd no longer exists, quite a number of houses were demolished. I'll try to help as much as possible. Rosalyn

Hi Sian, the local primary school did a project on it recently so might be able to help. Alternatively we may have a project in the pipeline to record peoples memories of the local area and the park in particular so there might be some information come out of that if its any help. However could not give you an idea of timescales on that as the idea for the 'memories' project has only just surfaced and we need to find the funding for it first.

please can anyone help. I am looking to chat with the older generation of godrergraig. I am interested in graig road and the landslide. My grandmother was born in graig road and I am trying to locate the house and maybe some local history. Number 61 graig road was the address but I wondered if the landslide had taken it away. If anyone has any history on the landslide i would be extremely greatful.Thanks. Sian.

Still a going concern!

Things have been quiet of late, but do not despair, the active stuff is about to begin again.... The pond is dug and when it has been lined all volunteers will be invited to get their wellies and plant it up! Groups will be contacted soon to start getting their ideas for projects formed into plans, so if you are interested in a particular group then sign up. ...more news to follow soon...
